Build reusable customer templates

Create reusable customer templates so you can provision new customers with the same settings every time.

Who this is for: partners (resellers)

Before you start

  • The Manage Customers permission — this page is only visible if you have it.
  • CSV bulk import isn't switched on in the portal yet — the Import tab is marked coming soon. Until it ships, add customers one at a time from the Customers page. What you can do today on this page is build and manage the reusable templates that speed up that manual provisioning flow.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, under Customers, select Bulk Operations.
  2. Select the Templates tab.

Create a template

  1. Select Create Template.
  2. Enter a Template Name and, optionally, a Description.
  3. Under Resource Limits, set Max Extensions, Max DIDs, and an extension number range (Ext. Range Start / Ext. Range End) for customers provisioned from this template.
  4. Under Billing, choose a Billing Plan: Starter, Standard, Professional, or Enterprise.
  5. Under Default Settings, tick Enable Voicemail by Default and/or Enable Call Recording by Default as needed.
  6. Under Available Features, tick whichever of voicemail, recording, IVR, call queues, time conditions, conferencing, SMS, and fax you want switched on by default.
  7. Select Create Template to save it.

Clone, edit, or delete a template

  • Select the Clone (copy) icon on any template — including the built-in System templates — to make your own editable copy.
  • Select a template's row to expand it and see its extensions, DIDs, extension range, and enabled features at a glance.
  • Select the Delete (trash) icon to remove a template you created. System templates can't be deleted, only cloned.

Use a template when provisioning

When you add a new customer from the Customers page, pick your saved template from the Quick Start with Template dropdown to pre-fill its extensions, DIDs, billing plan, and features automatically.

Ask Olivia

You can also ask Olivia, the in-portal assistant, to walk you through this.
