Set up customer billing and track your revenue¶
Choose how you charge your customers for extensions and phone numbers, then track the recurring revenue that generates across your customer base.
Who this is for: partners
Before you start¶
- Access to your Phonovo partner portal. Viewing the revenue dashboard requires billing permission; changing your pricing model requires billing management permission — ask your partner admin if a page shows a permissions error.
- This covers the recurring charge you bill customers for extensions and phone numbers. Call/minute usage pricing is configured separately — see Set your call rate markup and customer overrides.
Steps¶
Choosing your billing model¶
- In the sidebar, select Revenue, then choose Pricing Controls.
- Pick a Billing Model: Per-Item Billing charges customers for each recurring resource (extensions and phone numbers), or Blanket Pricing charges a single fixed monthly amount per customer regardless of usage.
- Choose your Currency (GBP, USD, or EUR).
- For per-item billing, enter your Cost per Extension and Cost per DID. For blanket billing, enter your Monthly Cost.
- Select Save Configuration. Changing between per-item and blanket billing (rather than just adjusting rates) saves immediately in the same click — there's no extra confirmation prompt — but treat it as consequential, since it affects how the rest of the billing period is calculated.

Note
This configuration sets your default pricing for new customers. Individual customer overrides are set from the customer's own record in customer management.
Tracking your revenue¶
- In the sidebar, select Revenue, then choose Billing.
- The Revenue Command Center shows your monthly revenue, billing model, and average revenue per customer at the top, along with totals for extensions and phone numbers billed.
- Check the First invoice preview panel for a readiness check before you export anything — it flags any warnings (for example, customers with no billing model applied) along with what to do about them.
- Review the Customer revenue breakdown table for a per-customer view of extensions, phone numbers, billing model, and monthly revenue.
- Select Export CSV to download the customer revenue breakdown for the selected billing period, or Create invoice export to download a structured export of the same data for the month shown in the Period field.
- Select Open pricing controls from the Pricing controls panel to jump straight to changing your rates.
