Access and set up your partner portal

Log in to your Phonovo partner portal for the first time and choose the domain your branded portal will live on.

Who this is for: partners (resellers)

Before you start

  • Your partner account username/email and password — these are issued when Phonovo sets up your reseller account.
  • A decision on how you want your portal to be reached:
    • Quick Setup — an instant yourcompany.phonovo.com subdomain. No DNS or SSL work required.
    • Custom Domain — your own hostname (for example portal.yourcompany.com). This needs a DNS record pointed at Phonovo and a wildcard SSL certificate that you provide, so leave extra time for this path.
  • If you're a Partner Staff user rather than a Partner Admin, you'll need the Manage Branding permission to complete the steps below. Partner Admins have this automatically. If you don't have it, ask your Partner Admin or Phonovo support to complete setup, or to grant you the permission.

Steps

  1. Go to the Phonovo login page.
  2. Select Partner Portal Login underneath the sign-up link. The form switches into partner mode with a Partner Portal Login banner at the top — select Switch to Customer if you picked this by mistake.
  3. Enter your Email or Username and Password.
  4. Select Log into Dashboard.

Complete the setup wizard

The first time you log in — and every time after that until setup is finished or you skip it — Phonovo shows a Welcome to Phonovo Partner Portal wizard automatically.

  1. On the Choose Your Portal Domain screen, select one of the two options:
    • Quick Setup - Phonovo Subdomain (marked Recommended)
    • Custom Domain (marked Professional)
  2. Select Continue. You can also select Skip for now to dismiss the wizard on this browser — this dismissal is permanent for that browser, even if you later finish setting up your domain another way (for example, through Branding settings). To see the wizard again, go through it (and complete or skip it again) on a different browser or device, or reopen and complete the wizard itself.

Option A: Quick Setup (Phonovo subdomain)

  1. On the Choose Your Subdomain screen, enter a subdomain in the Subdomain field. It's pre-filled with your partner code, but you can change it.
  2. Wait for the availability check to run when you click out of the field — a green checkmark means it's available, a red icon means it's taken or invalid.
  3. Check the Your portal URLs will be box to confirm your Partner Portal and Customer Domains addresses.
  4. Select Complete Setup.

Option B: Custom Domain

  1. On the Enter Your Domain screen, enter your chosen hostname in Your Portal Hostname — for example portal.yourcompany.com.
  2. Note the Wildcard SSL Certificate Required warning: you'll need a wildcard certificate (*.yourcompany.com) to cover your customers' subdomains later.
  3. Select Continue to DNS Setup.
  4. On the Configure DNS screen, add the DNS record shown under Required DNS Record at your domain registrar — note the Type, Host/Name, and Value/Points to columns (use the copy icons next to each). Set the record's TTL to 300 seconds while you're setting up, for faster propagation.
  5. Once you've added the record, select Verify DNS. If verification fails, read the error message and hint shown — after a couple of failed attempts the wizard also links to whatsmydns.net so you can check whether the record has propagated globally yet (DNS changes can take up to 48 hours, though most appear within 5–15 minutes).
  6. Once you see DNS verified successfully!, you're moved to the Upload SSL Certificate screen. Paste your certificate into SSL Certificate (PEM format) and your private key into Private Key (PEM format).
  7. Select Upload & Verify.

Finish

  1. On the final screen:
    • Quick Setup shows You're All Set! with your live Portal URL and a Go to Dashboard button.
    • Custom Domain shows Submitted for Approval — your domain is queued for Phonovo to review and activate, but you can carry on working while that happens. Select Continue to Dashboard.

Note

If you close the wizard partway through a custom-domain setup and log back in later, it resumes exactly where you left off — at the DNS step, the SSL step, or the finish screen, depending on what's already saved.

Ask Olivia

You can also ask Olivia, the in-portal assistant, to walk you through this.
